Strong Roots is a peer-led men's group run by Borders in Recovery. It brings together men at different stages of their recovery journey in a relaxed, non-judgemental environment where they can talk openly, support one another and build meaningful connections.
The group is facilitated by people with lived experience of recovery, which means everyone in the room understands what it feels like to face the challenges of addiction and rebuilding life. That shared understanding creates a unique sense of trust and belonging.
Whether you're newly in recovery or have been on your journey for years, Strong Roots offers a consistent, welcoming space to show up as you are.

Every session is different, but the welcome is always the same.
Connect with other men who understand what you're going through — no need to explain yourself.
Talk about what's on your mind in a safe, confidential space without fear of judgement.
Learn strategies for managing stress, building routine and staying on track with your recovery.
Take part in group activities, outings and events that make recovery feel positive and enjoyable.
Hear from people with lived experience and professionals who can offer guidance and inspiration.
Build friendships and a support network that extends beyond the weekly session.
“Walking into that room for the first time was the hardest thing I did. But it was also the best thing I ever did.”
